No matter how big or small, I believe all wins should be celebrated!
This week I went live for the first time on Facebook. I know that sounds ridiculous….come on Charlotte…but honestly, I was terrified. Now I think I had worked myself up into a bit of a frenzy, I mean what was the worse that could happen? Nothing…well maybe no one would watch, but I had been prepared just incase.
So this year as I have mentioned before is all about growth, and in this aspect particularly was about growing my visiblity on a platform where my target clients are, but also about me growing my confidence. There is always something nervy or a sense of feeling scared about stepping out of your comfort zone. But truly, when you are out of your comfort zone, incredible things happen.
For those of you who don’t know or have just stumbled across this blog, I am a photographer, mainly a wedding photographer. It is my absolute passion and love, but nowadays with the ever changing algorithms in these spaces that I spend way too much time just scrolling (FACEBOOK!) it is harder and harder for your business to be found. For me and my business it is important I connect with my dream client, but Facebook is definitely making it harder these days to do so unless you pay for advertising. This is a whole other article in itself and my thoughts on free social media vs paid engagement etc.
But anyway, I had one goal for my Facebook live and that was to help at least 1 bride. Well about 15 people showed up live and watched me chat about wedding photography tips and how to be natural and ummming way too much throughout, I had lots of lovely comments, but most importantly I had a bride-to-be message me after the live and said how much I had helped her feel more relaxed about the wedding photography aspect of her day! WIN!
Not only that it has now been viewed over 1.2k times, I had 3 enquiries of the back of it and a booking! I mean, that blows my mind.
So definitely a small win I initially celebrated, about helping a bride, getting out of my comfort zone and growing my confidence, definitely deserved a glass of prosecco in my eyes!
I really encourage you to celebrate the small wins in your life and in business or your career. It’s ok to feel good about yourself when you achieve your goals or complete tasks that petrify you….just think about the celebrations you can have when you nail your big goals!
