For me, I always approach the New Year as a refreshing new page – not a new start or that I need to change, why do people feel like as its the start of the New Year that they have to change?
I try and look at it from a more positive outlook and see it as a chance to make new habits and set new plans for the year. I am all about personal development but I feel like ‘New Me’ kind of puts down how you currently are.
This year is a big year for us and I am super excited, nervous, positive and also on the other hand….not feeling too ready for it all.
I am getting married in September, planning big growth strategies in my wedding photography business and planning exciting projects and goals for this blog which is having a new lease of life. Each year rather than setting New Years Resolutions we choose a word on how we want to approach our year – we’ve done this for about 3 years now, the word last year was ‘Adventure’ and that it definitely was. But this year we have chosen Growth.
My relationship is going to be growing as I marry my fiancé and with this, my family will be growing. For me in my business I want to grow my business, I have lots of ideas and plans for my businesses future. Investing in a mentor to really focus myself on my business goals to reach my income goals and expand my business and team. My blog, is going to be a big focus for me this year as my hobby – I love writing and feel I have been letting this skill go by not writing as much. I also love to share advice and tips and hope this will be a platform where people will get inspiration and take away new tips that they can apply to their own life. I am setting very clear goals on the expansion I want in the readership and my email list (P.S you can sign up here.)
I also want to grow as a person. I am very nearly approaching the big 3 0, and really want to be hitting personal goals I have set for myself such as practising yoga daily, learn a new language (feeling guilt around this one as I was meant to do that last year!) I also want to be in a position where we can buy our own home and my goal by my 30th is to be in the best shape of my life physically and mentally, so this is going to take daily practises to reach that.
I am super excited with what 2018 has in store and looking forward to seeing where the journey takes me.
Also…did I mention I am going to be daily blogging….say what?!? I started this last year and managed to get 19 days in, and this year I really want to set this as a daily routine, to be writing every day, taking more personal photographs and lifestyle imagery.
