Crikey….where do I even start? I have totally neglected to post recently on this blog. But not a day hasn’t gone by when I don’t think about it.
If I am totally honest, my head is kind of all over the place.
I adore lifestyle blogs and I am an avid reader myself. Daily! I have a passion for writing, taking beautiful images and sharing stories – I want to uplift and inspire others and that is what I want the driving force behind this blog to be. But if I am being totally open, I am scared.
Ridiculous right? Scared of what?
Well, I am scared mainly by what people think of me. Which is so silly…because if one of my friends said that to me that they were scared of what people thought of them, my advice would don’t worry about what other people think of you, do what makes you happy and the only immediate people you need to worry about will love, care and support you no matter what!
I have been so unsure about the content I want to deliver on this blog and how it fits with the name and brand. I came up with South Coast Love several years ago, the plan was to move back to the coast and write a lifestyle blog around this. But what is holding me back (or I am just making excuses around) is that I am worried the content I really have a passion for writing about like business, positivity, and productivity, travel, the coast and living a happy lifestyle – I worry that the name just potentially pigeon holes me into just writing about the Coast.
Do this make sense, or am I totally over thinking it?
But anyway, I feel like I am just going to get going with it all and if a new name comes in the meantime, I can rebrand and move things over. I want to write about what makes me happy, with the goal that this blog helps inspire and uplifts people, even if it’s just one person!
So what’s been going on? Well, we are now very settled in our new home in Hampshire, adjusting to the country lifestyle has been interesting. We still head to the beach pretty much every week, but enjoying what other areas of the South Coast have to offer and whilst we don’t have the beach a couple minutes drive away anymore if anything it makes the time we do spend back in our hometown more enjoyable.
In terms of general life, we are almost at one year till we get married! I am super excited and feel like it was a lifetime ago we got engaged. We have the main aspects of the wedding sorted – we have the venue, photographer, florist and stylists…I also got my dress last month! I literally can’t stop smiling, I can’t wait to marry my other half and share the journey with our friends and family.
Things have been super busy at my little office HQ and business is doing really well. I am super proud of how my business is growing and that all the hard work and the daily grind is really starting to pay off. There are definitely areas I still need to focus on in my business and I need to keep pushing myself, but so far I am really happy with the direction it is going in.
But for now, I am also really excited to get back into blogging. I was working on some inspired projects at the beginning of the year I was really looking forward to this year and the direction I was looking to take the blog, but now I have a little more focus, I am just going to get on with it and I really hope you enjoy reading it.
Thinking about the blogging schedule and although I would love to bring you daily blog posts, at the moment in the midst of wedding season, I just don’t think that is possible. I will be writing a lot about this over the coming months about how to get your life organised, how to be your most productive self, how to set goals and achieve them, how to try and get some kind of work life balance that you love and helps you jump out bed in the morning!
My aim is to be 3 blog posts a week – one on a Monday, Thursday, and Sundays. As I mentioned before, I want them to be fun, inspiring posts, that are either sharing tips and advice, documenting my journey as a business owner with tips and tricks I have learnt along the way, how to live a freedom lifestyle that is set on your terms, travel posts and recommendations, how to life a healthy and happy life (a constant practise this one!) and so much more.
I am excited to see where this blog goes over the coming months and years.
Thank you for your support and those of you who check in and keep in touch via Instagram and Facebook! I am making a promise to be more consistent with my blogging!
